I love working directly with people to solve clinical puzzles. What are the current needs and strengths of my highest needs clients? How was our population impacted by the Covid-19 crisis? What are the strengths of one clinician compared to another?
Questions like these are what inspired CDR to develop the DataPool®. The DataPool is a “CANS app” our members use to score assessments in real time, and to establish a bedrock of data that can help us understand and treat our clientele better.
Over the last 8 years, the DataPool has developed into a sophisticated clinical tool. Our app allows unprecedented insights into individual clients, organizations, and whole care systems. It is satisfying to witness people using the application regularly in creative ways, driven by their own clinical questions. Over the last two years, most of our collaborative data review has been (of course!) online, and recently became a part of my monthly “Office Hours” event. Office Hours is a new support offering from CDR. Office Hours functions as a designated space and time for users across our implementations, to convene, ask questions, and learn how to maximize their DataPool experience. These digital meetings are fantastic! I’ve learned as much as I may have taught while hosting Office Hours. As a result, we are extending an invitation to all DataPool users (frontline raters as well as supervisors) – Please join us at this and future monthly data gatherings!
Like most in human services, my favorite part of our work is the ‘human’ part. I love engaging with clients, with families, coworkers and vendors directly as we collaborate to build a caring and healing system. I also enjoy working together with actual people in the room! (And I know I am not the only one here). It’s something I have been missing, and something I am looking forward to in the near future.
CDR intends to maximize our presence at the upcoming National Council on Wellbeing Convention, in Washington D.C. by hosting our next Office Hours on April 12th, live at NatCon! This will be our first IRL conference in over two years. I am most excited to rub elbows with people, experience the buzz, and share it with you all via Office Hours. The Office Hours being held on Tuesday, April 12 (12 EST) will connect zoom participants, with myself, live at the CDR NatCon Convention booth. I will be prepared to answer questions attendees may have on the DataPool. I will also complete a short lesson reviewing the basics of DataPool CANS Profile page interpretation. The CANS profile page is a document that summarizes a lot of information on a single person’s story, which encompasses the heart of all clinical change.
If you’re also planning to attend the National Council Convention, make sure to stop by and find our booth! Even better, feel free to participate in our Office Hours IRL! Alternatively, let us know where you may be stationed at NatCon and we’ll do our best to come by. It will be wonderful to see everyone face-to-face once again, and to strengthen our data community connections!
