I recently came across this really good article on Multi-Systemic Therapy, a community-based mental health model that CDR has promoted for years. The article is on the website Choosing Therapy, and gives a very thorough and objective explanation on the program, and its target population. I have to be honest, I don’t know much about Choosing Therapy, but this is an article worth reading for anyone seeking an objective analysis of MST.
I have previously written on my personal reasons for supporting MultiSystemic Therapy here, and did an analysis of some of the children referred to the program in Pennsylvania here. Further, if people want to see our most current MultiSystemic Therapy referral algorithm, please check out page 41 of our CANS algorithm interpretation manual here. These algorithms are used in systems of care to help identify children who correctly match the clinical profile of what MST treats well, so that children can be referred quickly and efficiently to the program that fits their needs.
And, of course, you can always check out up-to-date MST information from the developer’s own webpage here!
Hope this post-Covid summer is opening up nicely for everyone!
